Seeing Rainbows...In The Dark by Sharath Pallemoni

In Photography, Light is the ink you use to write the story of your sights.

So then, can you still go on to be a scribe, in the absence of this bright?

If you keep searching, keep seeking, you will, indeed, find.

That you can truly see rainbows... in the dark.

Bringing it all together, with a Triptych by Sharath Pallemoni

Shape. Form. Texture.

Beginning. Middle. End.

Rhythm. Melody. Harmony.

In art, literature, or music, each of these elements, by themselves, can be working really well. But it is when you bring all of them together, that you can truly capture the essence of your portrait, story, or, score.

And in photography, you can create something similar - a Triptych: a collection of three different pictures that still have a common thread running through them.

So the next time you're about to hit that shutter button, remember to take not one, not two, but three different clicks of your subject.

You can then bring it all together, with your own Triptych!

3 Tips To Make Your 2D Photos Look Like 3D by Sharath Pallemoni

Length and Width.

These are the only two dimensions to a photograph.

How then, in our work, can we create an illusion of that third dimension - Depth?

There are three ways you can trick the eye into believing that there really is a space you can step into, hidden right within your picture:

  • Separate the foreground from the background, as much as possible
  • Connect the foreground with the background physically : perhaps a floor, a wall, or a roof bridges the two spaces
  • Lead from the foreground to the background, with lines running along your bridge

Try this trio of tricks and you'll see that you can make your 2D photos look like 3D!

How To Capture Sunbursts - In The Most Unlikeliest of Ways! by Sharath Pallemoni

On the sunniest of days.

With the harshest of light.

It just is, the worst of times, to look up into the sky, and click.

Right?

RIGHT?!

No, not really!

If you can then flip it all around, and let only the barest of light in.

By making your aperture the smallest it can be.

Plus get the sun to peek out a tiniest bit - over a peak's curve, around a tree's edge.

You will have captured a sunburst, in the most unlikeliest of ways!

Using Triangles To Take Stronger Pictures by Sharath Pallemoni

From the sparkling-white roof-shells of the Sydney Opera House, to the gleaming-green glass-facades of the Luxor Hotel, you will have seen them, time and again.

Triangles.

As elegant as they are to look at, for their simplicity and geometry, triangles have long been used extensively in design and architecture, for their strength and stability.

And when you use triangles in your photos, you tap into these same powerful attributes, plus you can make up a puzzle out of your picture - one beautiful image composed of many interlocking triangles!

To Infinity. To Eternity. by Sharath Pallemoni

ride-beside.jpg

What are we, if not Air, Water, Earth?

And where is home, if not by the whistling wind, the lapping waves, the slipping sands?

When the elements within meet the elements without, we are in with Infinity, we are one with Eternity,

And these are the moments to live for, to relive forever - in your mind's eye,  by your hand's trace.

Sliver of Order. Sea of Chaos. by Sharath Pallemoni

saint-francis-cathedral-santa-fe.jpg

All of life is filled with chaos.

And all of art is an attempt to find order in chaos.

In photography, two subjects lend themselves wonderfully to framing order : Nature and Architecture.

So when you see the clear-blue of a winter-sky balance out the burst-of-yellow from a field-of-corn, or when you chance upon the perfect symmetry of a cathedral's columns, go on and click.

You will have snapped a sliver of order in a sea of chaos.

Sunshine In The Eyes by Sharath Pallemoni

Every moment, we live through our eyes.

That thrill in our heart rises up into a twinkle in our eyes; those sparks in our mind crackle on as fire in our eyes.

If you want to capture the essence of a person in a moment, with your camera , all you need to do is look for their eyes, and click.

And when you do this with your subjects by window-light, you can see sunshine in their eyes.
